Pantry Clean Out & Staging

One day you wake up, and the parts of your home that nobody else sees are all of a sudden, a catch-all. This was our pantry. We are lucky enough to have a walk-in pantry. That’s also to our demise LOL we end up putting EVERYTHING in there.

When we knew the house was going to be put on the market and we decided we are not only going to downsize but simplify, I needed to clean this pantry out.

I started by removing everything and putting it into the kitchen. Creating categories at the same time would have helped in the final job. I wish I would have taken a photo of this 😳 What a mess this was!

Next, I cleaned all the shelves and touched up the paint. Here you could also add a lovely wallpaper or paint the walls for an added bonus. Last, to make it fresh and new I swept and mopped, very simple!

A new rug from TJMAXX makes the room cozy and grounds the area. This one is reversible, which I love!

Then I went shopping for my organization jars and baskets.

When I got it all done I realized I hadn’t organized it very well. I rearranged again and now we are good to go! This really helps us to see exactly what we have and don’t. Makes it easier to create a shopping list.

One thing to point out is I arranged it by sections that matter to our family, but for staging purposes, also I arranged it by what was pleasing to the eye when you first walked in. What you can’t see in these photos are the paper plates, the crockpot and etc on the back wall of shelving.
